We Now Call Him Elder

Tonight JD was set apart as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  We started the night at Addie's basketball game in Malad.  It is a little ironic that JD would spend  the majority of his last night at home in a gym.  It is  funny that it was at Malad.  The girls lost, but they look better all the time and Addie had one of her best games of the season.

We left from the game to the stake center where we met up with Brynne and Clark and the entire stake presidency.  We had a wonderful meeting.  Clark prayed; JD asked Brynne to bare testimony.  LaWrell, President Rounds and President Keller bore testimony. 

President Keller mentioned that you always knew what side JD was on.  He went on to explain that years ago President Mumford told him that this statement was made at Dad's (JD's Grandfather) funeral. It was true, you always knew what side Dad was on.  President Keller said he had never forgotten it.

JD was set apart by President Dax Keller as one with keys and authority, with words that were not only beautiful but inspiring, and I am sure inspired. 

We went home to have cupcakes and ice cream for LaWrell's birthday.  It may have been the best present he has ever received, his oldest son, Joseph D. Cook, is a missionary.
